Frequently Asked Questions
Does it cost anything to be a part of this group?
Yes, price varies by age and number of siblings. We also have discounts available for Board Member volunteers and scholarships for those in need.
Do we need to buy the curriculum?
No! We have created a unique Nelipots curriculum that we will use and it is not yet available for the public outside of our class.
What age range does this group cater to?
The curriculum caters to ages 3-6 but we will have activities and sensory play for children 2 and under.
Can siblings come to class?
Absolutely! Younger siblings will have a space for their own activities. Older siblings are more than welcome to work on their own schoolwork or help their younger siblings.
What supplies will we need?
We will provide all supplies and snacks for each class. All you need to bring is yourself! We do have sharing circle where kids can bring items from home to show their friends, but we will let you know ahead of time and it is never mandatory.
Is there anything we will need for every class?
Yes! We recommend bringing sunblock, bug spray, wipes, and a water bottle. I would also recommend bringing something to sit on if you don't want to sit directly on the ground.
Can we come to class whenever we are available?
Yes, we offer a monthly tuition option to attend as many classes as you want per month or you can pay a Trial Class fee and attend when you can. Field trips are open to everyone regardless of class attendance, although some space is limited and class attendees will have priority!
Can I help teach, read for story time, or lead a craft?
Absolutely! Just send us a message about what you’re interested in doing and when!
Can I create events and meetups for the group?
Absolutely! We just ask that nothing interferes with class time during the school year.
When does the group meet?
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00am – 11:00am CST, rain or shine, as long as it's safe!
Where does the group meet?
At the outdoor tables between the playground and the basketball courts at the Phil Hardberger Park - West Entrance (8400 Military Hwy)
Can I show up late to class?
Yes! Come early, come late, come as you are!
What should my child wear to class?
Wear pajamas, pants, shorts, anything you like! Just be prepared to get dirty and play with nature every day!
Where do I find information about classes?
We send out weekly emails about the upcoming classes along with worksheets, science experiments, and craft instructions to follow along at home if you miss a class.
Where do I find information about field trips?
Field trips will mostly be scheduled around our class days and will have an event created with more information in our Monthly Calendar and on our Facebook pages.
Does it cost anything to go on a field trip with the group?
Some field trips may have a small fee and some are free. All that information will be listed for each field trip in our Monthly Calendar and on our Facebook pages.
Can husbands/partners/grandparents come to class or on field trips?
Absolutely! We encourage all partners, grandparents, and other family members to be involved in class if they want! If someone wants to come on a field trip that is not part of the group, please make sure there is space as some field trips may have a limited number of spots available.
Can I invite a friend to the class?
Absolutely! We just ask that you let us know ahead of time so we can prepare snacks and supplies for all children attending.
What do we do on the days we don’t have class?
We will have suggestions sent out in a weekly email for Tuesday and Thursday to keep the curriculum going all week. Some will be a craft or lesson that we will use or talk about the next day in class!
My child has allergies, what do I need to do?
Please notify us of any allergies your child has as we provide snacks for each class and use food ingredients in some of our sensory bins.
Can I drop my kid off for class?
No! This is not a drop-off program as we will be outside in nature. At least one parent or guardian is required to stay in the vicinity.
Can we just join field trips and events?
Absolutely! You can join our monthly event email list by sending a message to our Events Coordinator at NelipotsOutreachCord@gmail.com
